Zmajevska fronta
Zmajevska fronta was a curated presentation of cultural projects developed through the public institute Mladi zmaji. It also introduced BAZA, their new youth centre in central Ljubljana, through the creative practices and communities that would inform its role.
The projects had emerged at different times and through different processes. The curatorial challenge was to connect them conceptually and spatially, while linking the organisation’s existing cultural activity with the possibilities of the new centre.
I developed the curatorial interpretation, wrote the exhibition text and translated the connections between projects into the layout and presentation of the works. The text brought photography, film, sound and material-based practices into a shared account of creativity, learning and belonging, connecting these activities with BAZA as a future space for young people’s initiative and public voice.
I took responsibility for the exhibition’s overall implementation, working with the institute on logistics, artist coordination and obtaining materials. My work included editing video subtitles, assembling and programming custom audio players, installing two works in the space, designing and producing exhibition labels, and preparing printed materials and prints of selected artworks.
The resulting exhibition connected projects from different periods within a shared presentation, making the new centre’s purpose tangible through existing creative work.
