tremolo

tremolo explores the vibrational communication of insects through sound. The challenge was to give viewers a visual way into this research while preserving the sound composition’s central role.

Working with sound artists Brane Zorman and Boštjan Perovšek, I filmed and edited a video built around extreme slow motion. The editing interwove recognisable reality with lyrical, slowed imagery that felt almost unreal, creating a movement between familiar scenes and an altered sense of time.

The images added a visual dimension to the project’s exploration of vibrations and listening. Their pace and atmosphere were designed to complement the composition, drawing viewers into a more immersive encounter with the work.

The 2026 production was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, the City of Ljubljana, Department of Culture, and Mestna galerija Nova Gorica.
