Splavi po reki Lethe
Splavi po reki Lethe was an exhibition developed from my research into cultural overproduction, sensory overload and their emotional consequences. Through the mythology of Lethe, the project explored forgetting, impermanence and the possibility of renewal.
The curatorial challenge was to bring different artists’ perspectives on these questions into a coherent, immersive exhibition. I invited Urša Čuk, Anže Šmalc and Jon Žagar, connecting their distinct approaches through a shared conceptual framework and spatial presentation.
The Historical Atrium of Ljubljana Town Hall became part of that interpretation. Its niches created individual settings for the works, while a spiral route through the exhibition brought photography, drawing, ceramics and digital imagery into dialogue. Video projection, lighting and an original soundscape supported the experience across more than one sense. Sound contributed to the atmosphere and helped visitors engage with the project as a whole.
As curator and producer, I carried the project from concept to exhibition and designed its title graphic. The project reflects my approach to exhibition-making: developing the concept, works, space and sensory experience together, so that the subject can be encountered as well as understood. The accompanying exhibition text was written by Maša Žekš.
The exhibition was supported by Artopolis Institute.
