Ribice, jaz in ajmar

The exhibition Ribice, jaz in ajmar at Galerija Miklova hiša was accompanied by an extensive catalogue of Patrik Dvorščak’s work. The writing needed to address his broader practice, placing it in a historical and conceptual context and articulating the questions explored through his work.

I developed a sustained philosophical interpretation that connected the works with the concerns underlying his practice. The challenge was to convey the complexity of that thinking through a text whose structure and language could reflect it. Although the works use a direct visual language, their conceptual depth called for a detailed critical reading.

The resulting essay provided a framework for understanding the artist’s practice across the body of work presented in the catalogue. My contribution also included the English translation, extending the text to the publication’s English-speaking readers.

Alongside the writing, I photographed the exhibition installation for the catalogue, documenting how the works were presented in the gallery. Together, the text and photographs connected critical interpretation with a visual record of the exhibition.
